How do you craft an industry-defining App?

Scape, the Student Living Specialists, wanted to translate their passion about sheltering and shaping the minds of tomorrow in a way that spoke their audience’s language.

Through detailed focus groups across residents, in-house teams and leadership as well as in-depth insight reports, we identified the need for an app that enriches the lives of students while simplifying the working day of the teams.

Working alongside design gurus That Thing and app company Glance, the Scape App came to life and was rolled out across 12 buildings, 7 cities and two continents.

Bringing the front desk to the palm of their hands

Simplifying time-consuming tasks was the first priority. Logging in repair requests with a click of a button was untangling long and arduous forms with simple & beautifully designed decision trees.

Parcel in reception? From getting notified to collecting it with two-step verification, the app delivered in more than one way.

The best events are now a click away

Scape events are part of the brand’s DNA - they are where the global network of residents create life-long friendships and develop life-enhancing skills.

With the events section of the app, they can check what is on and book their place faster and easier than ever.

There when you need it the most

Transcribing Scape’s 24/7 physical presence and support in their residences with a digital touch, the app places a well-rounded emphasis on the wellbeing of its users.

It features a content hub with tailored guides from Student Minds, the UK’s leading student mental health charity. When things get a bit much, there is a one-tap-communication function where they can get in contact with a mental health first aid trained member of the team.
